The series utilises border designs based on those found within editions of Microsoft Word ('95-Present), shown in a state of breakdown or collapse. Ordinarily these borders are applied within a Word document, and are drawn from many different historical locations and design periods, therefore collected into a kind of history of design in brief. In turn these elements are adopted to surround and add weight to any-thing (a letter, a certificate, a poem etc.), to position it somehow within this history. The work references both painting and digital production, the vivid colours akin to a backlit computer screen. The surface of the work is highly reflective.
